Job Overview
As a Software Testing Engineer at Futuristic Labs, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive testing methodologies. You will collaborate closely with our development team to identify bugs, design test cases, and implement effective testing strategies.
What do we expect from this role?
1. Manual Testing:
- Execute test cases (manual) and analyze results.
- Identify, record, and thoroughly document bugs.
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
- Review and analyze system specifications.
2. Test Automation:
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts.
- Execute automated test scripts and analyze results.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the test automation framework.
3. Test Planning and Documentation:
- Develop and document comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Maintain detailed and organized documentation of test cases, test scripts, and test results.
- Ensure test documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
4. Collaboration:
- Work closely with the development team to understand project requirements and functionality.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to identify system requirements.
- Communicate any issues or concerns discovered during the testing process clearly and effectively.
5. Performance Testing:
- Assist in the execution of performance and load testing.
- Analyze performance test results and identify bottlenecks.
6. User Experience Testing:
- Conduct usability testing to ensure the application meets the user experience standards.
- Provide feedback on usability issues and suggest improvements.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with new testing tools and test strategies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to testing processes.
8. Reporting:
- Prepare and present reports on testing progress, results, and issues.
- Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- ISTQB or similar certification in software testing (nice to have)
- Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS or Azure.
