Job Summary
- Prioritize and schedule computer operations and workflow to maximize the use of processing equipment and IT resources.
- Analyze production, maintenance, and malfunction records to pinpoint issues and propose solutions such as procedural changes, workflow adjustments, or equipment upgrades to enhance performance and capacity.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend equipment purchases to improve the capabilities of computer operations.
- Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop computer operations staff to ensure activities meet established production targets and operating budgets.
- Collaborate with functional or operational area managers to comprehend their present and future information requirements and devise plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into current operations.
- Select and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers (e.g., data entry providers) to guarantee satisfactory service standards for the organization.
- Oversee activities including data processing, data entry, data control, position language set-up, and tape library management.
- Provide support to internal users of computer applications and hardware, addressing inquiries about system procedures, online transactions, systems status, and downtime procedures.
- Collaborate with network services, software systems engineering, and application development teams to restore service and identify problems, maintaining a troubleshooting tracking log for timely issue resolution.
