Job Description
Test Engineer is expected to ensure that all testing standards, guidelines and policies are strictly adhered and practiced in projects. Test Engineer carries out the testing process and all encountered defects are recorded and tracked. Test Engineer ensures that defects are fixed and controlled.
The Test Engineer ensures:
- Test life cycle process is religiously practiced.
- Complete requirement collection, validation and analysis
- Involves in brain storming sessions and knowledge transfers with respect to the requirements for a project
- Possible risks are identified in advance and escalate to the Module Leader.
- Assists Module Leader in creation of Module impact charts
- Assists Module Leader in creation Requirement Traceability Matrix
- Validates the Test scenario document and adds his/her inputs to it
- Involves in detailed test cases designing and base lining
- Assign effort and severity index to the base lined test cases
- Executes test cases and performs black box /white box/grey box testing of the application
- All testing processes are in place and control mechanisms are strictly followed.
- Smooth inter and intra group co-ordination functions in his/her module
- Process compliance and adherence for a project
- Performs smoke, regression, retesting and adhoc testing
- All test reports are prepared and escalated to the Module Leader
- Reports, retests defects and assists in successful defect closure
- Involves in Test Closure
- Should follow the security guidelines as per the ISMS norms while accessing the client’s information of the assigned project.
Specifications:
- QA, SDLC, Java basic, Selenium, Manual & Automation testing.
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge on SDLC Life cycle
- Good in writing test cases.
