This position involves actively engaging in all stages of the testing process, including validating requirements, planning tests, identifying and developing test cases, creating test automation frameworks, conducting functional tests, and overseeing user acceptance testing.

Responsibilities also include defining test objectives, executing both manual and automated test cases and scenarios, ensuring that software products align with design specifications, and maintaining consistency, completeness, accuracy, and testability of product requirements.

Collaboration with stakeholders to devise testing scenarios and facilitate testing is essential. Additionally, working within an Agile Scrum team to ensure successful product delivery and proposing enhancements to improve product testability are key aspects of this role.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Testing involves both automation and manual execution. For automation, proficiency in developing testing code using Visual Studio’s Coded UI module and Selenium for web and windows applications is essential.
  • Understanding manual test strategies and Automation Frameworks is also required.
  • Tasks include maintaining existing test scripts and creating new ones based on updated requirements.
  • Regression and defect testing are conducted in both manual and automation modes, with defects being logged accordingly.
  • Quality Assurance activities encompass regression testing, testing bug fixes with collateral damage validation, interface and integration testing, as well as environmental testing across various platforms. Reporting status updates to the test lead is crucial.
  • The role involves developing test scripts and plans based on specifications provided by higher-level staff. Detected software problems are reported, tracked, and verified, with collaboration with technical teams to isolate and replicate issues. Additionally, reviewing user manuals may be required.
  • Adherence to Weatherford’s Quality Policy and compliance with all Quality Systems Manual, Operating, and Technical Procedures, as well as Workplace Instructions, is mandatory. Safety rules and company policies must be understood and followed.
  • Work assignments are carried out with the highest quality standards in mind.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisors within the job’s physical constraints are performed as necessary.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and documenting program issues, as well as planning test schedules or strategies in line with project scope and delivery dates, are integral aspects of the role.

Qualification

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Proficient in automated (Selenium) and manual testing.
  • Experience with at least one test automation tool.
  • Familiarity with one or more scripting languages.
  • Capable of converting requirements into well-defined test cases.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to detect and resolve issues.
  • Adept at following directions and collaborating with team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Availability to work with remote teams during off hours.
  • Physically able to promptly respond to emergency situations.

Preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience (Entry Level – Minimal practical work exposure or experience needed)
  • MS Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with testing web applications using Selenium
  • Proficiency in a UI automation framework.
  • Familiarity with MS Unit Testing Framework.
  • Knowledge of database technologies like SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Experience with source control systems and configuration management.
  • Availability during off-hours for collaboration with remote teams.
