Description
Robotics & Digital Surgery, part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is recruiting for a Software Engineer, located in Santa Clara, CA.
Job Overview
As a Software Engineer, you will be working on the Software Applications team, helping to develop the Applications software that controls parts of a real-time robotics system. The software you write safely and effectively empowers clinical staff to interact with the medical robotic system. You will be interacting closely with Clinical and System Engineering to test and develop clinical and user requirements. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who is interested in revolutionizing the world of medical robotics.
The Software Applications team focuses on system management software to manage energy generation for tools, LED control, cloud functionality, video ingest, recording & distribution, sound production, and vision control logic.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with software and other engineers (clinical, systems, mechanical, electrical) as part of a focused cross-functional team developing software for medical robotic applications.
- Participate in design discussions and code reviews.
- Work with engineering teams to support their business requirements.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Must have at least 3+ months of software engineering experience, working on hardware products at a Medical Device company.
- Must have experience with networking in a distributed system.
- Experience working in an FDA compliance environment.
- Experience programming in C/C++.
- Familiarity and experience with Python.
- Experience working in a Linux environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with CMake and/or Bash.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work onsite at the J&J office in Santa Clara, CA.
